Help Support Our Cause

“Nurturing self-worth and academic growth for Pontiac elementary school students by providing the educational tools they need to succeed at school and beyond, along with a balanced and healthy meal.”

What is Bound Together?

In 1994,  Bound Together was founded by members of Pontiac’s All Saints’ Episcopal Church, as a small, after school tutoring program. In 1995, the program added a Kids’ Café dinner through the efforts of the Deacon and All Saints’ volunteers. Kids Cafe dinners are provided through the Michigan Department of Education Child Care program (CACFP) and administered through OLHSA. Outside groups volunteer to serve the meals and interact with the kids.

In 1999, Bound Together became a non-profit tax-exempt corporation and reached out to include others from the community as board members and as tutors. Our primary mission is to provide no cost, individualized reading, writing, mathematics tutoring, art and cooking four days per week to Pontiac elementary school students. After every session a meal is served.
